Hi, live in Ontario Canada. I am looking for a flywheel for the above engine. The part # is 43817409. I am having a hard time sourcing this, new or used. Any ideas?

Thanks for this. I was on eBay and saw all of the sport jet drive links. I wasn’t sure if they would fit (my engine isn’t a sport jet type of engine - sorry if that sounds naïve). Plus these links all say that the flywheel (part #4) is unavailable. The first link looks positive, but the numbers don’t match the part number of my flywheel. Not sure how I would check for compatibility?

Look for late model engines with the CDM modules. The flywheels have a different hub size and magnet arrangement for the trigger and coil.
The older flywheels have a flat top and the one you are looking for has a raised ring around the hub that is threaded for the puller.
The earlier flat topped flywheel has a smaller hub and goes with the CDI modules.

There was a fellow in the GTA area that used to be a Chrysler / Force go to type.----Name was Joe.----Not sure if he still has the inventory.----These guys get older and sometimes pack-up.

All the "old" guys usually pass on.
FrankA, Don, RRitt and a few dozen more left with an immeasurable amount of knowledge when they went to the big boat repair shop in the sky. :(

'96 Models are tricky as they were already Merc. ignition/flywheel and also the last time a modification was made to the ignition till it finally died in '99
Also (at least the '96) has magnet problems and flywheels got replaced often there for impossible or for $$$$ to find.

Looks correct to me as it has the raised ring around the hub internally threaded for the puller.
The early one is flat on the top. see post above.

Than the part# and description in the ad is not correct, although it should; check the # stamped in the flywheel 261-9007-c2 is for Mariner 60 HP or others
I do know the Force Flywheels! (I have & had both motors)

I think the description is wrong. The picture looks right compared to the part in Marine Engine dot com. It's different than my 95.
