Well, my problem with the starter solinoid being stuck on has gone away for now. On to the next tasks to try to get this beast started. The starter engages and turns the engine over, but the engine makes no attempt to light. I am seeing unburned fuel coming out from between the prop and lower unit housing after cranking.

I am going to check for spark, compression and hook an external tank up with fresh fuel, as suggested in other threads.

What is the best way to drain the engine of the existing fuel? I can easily get to the fuel filter and get some fuel out. But I would assume that there is still fuel from that point forward in the engine.

Undo the nut at the bottom of the bowl on the carb, the fuel filter should be drained, and...

Evaporation is the safest meathod, allure.
Allow the pup to sit an hour after the compression test.
Make sure ignition is grounded well to avoid a mushroom cloud, and to keep from damaging the switchbox and coils.
Hope you are fishing this time next week
