Can anyone help, my engine will not fire in the early morning, up in the day around 10:00- 11:00am the engine will start as if nothing wrong with it runs great. This problem has happen to me at the river 3 times lately, the last being 3-26-12 or yesterday. Replaced ingition switch did not solve problem. Is there a switch somewhere on the engine that will cause this?

Howdy, DWD.

Welcome to iboats. :)

Sounds like a cold fail part in your ignition. When it warms up a bit it works.

Try a hair dryer. Warm up the ignition parts and see if she starts.

Don't feel bad, I have a wife that won't operate until 10AM either.

Have you checked for spark with a timing light or spark tester? If there is no spark, JBs advice is sound. If you have spark, you need to look into enrichener issues or maybe Quickstart Issues.

Yes, to checking for spark, there is no spark. I tried to crank it this morning at 4:00 am would not fire, tried again at 10:00 am engine cranked up as if nothing is wrong with it. The boat is under a shed but something somewhere is getting damp and grounding a wire out or something. Boat dealer told me it just likes to sleep late. I might have to start fishing in the afternoon.
