Okay so an update. I guess I did not look well enough I found the jets in the package that I had saved from the new carb float bowls. I installed these high speed jets. I went out on a limb also and got fresh fuel in a external tank and mixed Johnson 2 stroke oil 50:1 an entire can of sea foam in 3.5 gallons of gas. I still have the idle issue, however the motor runs when I’m at about 2,500 rpm’s, I ran it for ten mins in the tank and let it sit and ran it an additional ten mins. While letting it sit I looked inside the internal fuel tank and there was water inside it. I had cleaned it completely out a couple of weeks ago, added fresh fuel and mix to it. Somehow water got inside the tank. So I’m thinking that’s what killed it on the lake last time. But for now it’s running like it was before just with the idle issue. I will keep tinkering with it. Huge step from before when it completely died on me at the lake. I’m replacing the electronic choke as we speak, and am going to drain the main tank, I also found that the vent valve was not functioning properly on the main tank so that could have also had something to do with it dying on the lake. I soaked it with pb blast to where it functions smoothly. So now I am
back to the idle issue. I appreciate everyone’s help with this motor so far. I will adjust the idle screws here shortly to see if that will help it out. I did find some passages on the throttle body assembly dirty when I took the side plates off, so I cleaned those also.

Okay so another update from this weekend. After changing the electronic fuel choke, setting the idle screws 5-3/4 turns out, letting the seafoam mixture sit over night, cleaning the vent valve on the fuel tank, and installing the high speed jets on the carbs, I am happy to say the motor runs, and it idles after firing it up Sunday morning. It seemed to be a combination of things that was causing this issue, but after all this I could not have done it without the help of everyone on this forum. Thank you everyone for all the information and suggestions.
