after purchasing a used boat i installed a hot foot throttle control. at this time i noticed the shift cable was broken at the control unit.after replaceing the cable,im not able to get the control lever to engage into the detent in f or r.i adjusted it so that the trunion and the cable end slipped on correctly in n position.it seems that the bracket that the cable fits into that connects to the main linkage at motor is binding while the lever is trying to rotate. the farther you push the shift lever forward the more resistance. at first thought it seems to be a design prob.is their any suggestions or tips to fix this issue?
