motor have 120psi compression, single carburetor , new spark plugs, starts but missing and spiting like held ,, checked the timing and is like 90 degree off, checked the flywheel thinking mayve the key broke and the flywheel of off , but is fine, have the feeling is the switch box just shorted inside and jumping the spark into a different cylinder ..any ideas , thanks

More likely a wiring issue. Either trigger wire to the switch box or wire from the switch box to the coils is in the wrong spot. If you haven't touched the wiring, then start looking for a broken wire between the switch box and trigger.

You need to re-validate your timing after checking all the wiring as suggested. Visual check is not good enough, you have to try to twist and bend the wires to see if they are really connected. If it continues to be 90 degree off, try moving the timing inductive pick to other plug wires to see which one is actually #1. You should be able to tell as it is the one that will be giving you the closes timing to TDC at idle.

Great! So far for this month alone, this is the 2 case of broken trigger wire causing a tremendous shift in timing.
