1995 Evinrude 130hp E130TLEOA only 1 coil has spark, please help!

I just purchased a new boat and the deal was really good and i wasn't able to test motor prior to purchase due to missing key...... All looked clean wiring looks good and no chafing I can turn over by hand and nothing stood out as a deal breaker...... tried to get motor started today after installing new ignition switch and it wouldn't start so i decided to check spark, only top left coil I think its #1 cyl had spark and it seemed to be a little week in my opinion all others nothing...... It looks like all four coils have recently been replaced as well as the spark plugs, i tested spark using same plug switching between each plug wire.

Like i said i got a deal on the boat, 1982 20' Mako Center Console w/95 Evinrude 130hp and trailer for $1000....... I'm just hoping i don't need to drop a ton of cash into getting it up and running!

Any help troubleshooting would be appreciated!

Go to cdielectronics.com for trouble shooting procedures. If you want to check for spark, get an open air gap spark tester set at 7/16". The spark plugs will tell you nothing.

Ok, I've got a buddy coming over with a compression and spark tester. He said it sounds similar to his recent problem where the power pack and Stator went bad. Does this sound right?

The motor must crank over fast to produce spark from the magneto.-----Check battery / wires / starter motor.

Yes, I was told this by our local boat shop and I charged up battery and and jumped it with another fresh battery just to make sure it was getting plenty of amperage and turned over pretty fast. Still no fire......

My buddy knows how to troubleshoot the cdi and stator so I will know more shortly what im looking at. Hopefully its just the cdi and not both!

Ok had help from a buddy to go over motor with me. Checked compression and it was 92-95psi between the four cylinders, checked with spark tester and had #2 &#4 coils have spark albeit week. Pulled cover off power pack and all looked spotless so we went back to coils and decided to swap coils back and forth trying to eliminate a bad coil issue. Oddly enough the battery must have warmed and started cranking faster and previously no spark coils and power pack leads had spark now. Now I charged existing battery and actually had a spare charged battery that was on jumpers for a little extra power. We decided it must be a battery problem so we jumped battery from a running car and miraculously motor spun 2x's faster and we now have spark in all 4 cylinders. Put everything back together and boom she started right up!

I talked to local boat shop and he said that motor needs a good fast starting battery with about 1000 MCA and previously only said a "good" battery..... ugh! At least I know the motor runs now.......I'd rather by a $100 battery than $300 for a power pack!

The starters on those are elegantly easy to inspect / repair.--I usually install new brushes at $5.00 a set.---From local starter alternator shop.
