1995 40 hp

How does this outboard perform . and what are the main problems if any.1995 40hp ELPT .Thanks Bucko51<br />also are there problems other than the normal ones using this in the salt.I have never owned a force motor , I am trying to buy a package ,spectrum 16 ft and it has this motor on it.thanks Bucko51

Welcome to iboats. Pretty simple motor. Not much for extras. Fairly reliable as long as you use good gearlube and 2-stroke oil and keep the water pump in good order.

It's a very good idea to flush the motor with fresh water, using earmuffs, after each use in salt water. Five minutes at 1200 rpm should do, but take care NOT to rev up the motor too much on earmuffs. Also the tap water pressure should be at about 1/4 of normal, NOT full blast.
