So the neighbours getting rid of his 95 4x4 jimmy with 200000 KM/125000 miles +- on it for $4000 bucks is that reasonable for the milage?
He did a tranny shift upgrade, brakes and front end work, about $1500 bucks worth of work before he drove to mexico last fall.

(generally used vehicles in Canada are 15-25% higher than state side)

With the little bit of info you gave, kelly blue book (kbb.com) says a base model jimmy in either 2 door or 4 door is roughly $2000 USD.

BTW yes they're the same, GMC jimmy, chevy blazer don't know which you're looking at

What kind of "tranny shift upgrade" did he do? Is it a 4.3L engine? Does the 4 wheel drive work?

The upgrade for the tranny was for a shifting issue (factory) so I understand, not sure about the 4.3, but it is the large v6 I am told and 4x4 works, leather seats, things loaded.
We need an interm vehicle, and this one suites if the price is right.
Just heard about it yesterday, was thinking about offering $3000- $3500 due to year and mileage, thought I would check first with the iboats folk first.

The "large V6" for those is the 4.3L. Great motor. Make sure the 4 wheel drive works though. Those trucks had issues with the actuator on the front differential. Over all though they are pretty decent trucks.

At that price it is a BIG gamble. Any big repairs cost in the next 2 or 3 years will put you very up side down on what you have in it compared to what it is worth. forget about the 4/4 or spend more money on something much newer.

IMO, $4,000 is way too much for a 17 year old Jimmy. You can do much better just keep looking!

My question would be, what's wrong with it, that he wants to dump a relatively low mile vehicle, after spending $1500 on fixing ut upit.
