ok so i checked it it was 4deg out but i dont see any stop or adjuster or a place where it could be ?? the ign plate on wot rests against a casting lug with no holes or anything like in it. can anyone help?? please
i made my own stop to get the timing correct. i still get the same fault anything above half to 3/4 power i need to choke it. the carbs are spotlessly clean it has new cdi box new pump new coils. on light throttle its fine if you choke it it goes ritch/bogy as it should any help would be great. thanks guys
If the engine runs better with the choke, it is running lean. Possible you have a weak fuel pump. When at full throttle-try constantly priming the fuel hose bulb. This will force extra fuel into the carb bowls. See if that makes any difference.
Thanks i will try that. it has a new fuel pump on i was thinking maybe a blocked filter but would that not restrict the choke also?? or could it be old fuel?? also does anyone know about the wot timing adjustment that i asked about??.

For safety of the engine.
DICONNECT the carb linkage and the engine isnt gonna run on high rpm because the carbs are on idle setting, its just the timing that goes up.
