This boat is rated at 115HP rated for 3 people, I plan to take it out with 2 friends (3 people total) total weight of around 480lbs onboard total, 3 of us plan to go tubing and i'm wondering if the boat will be able to pull a one man tube and still travel 25+mph. My father took it out recently with 4 people these people had a combined weight of over 700lbs, and said he could only get around 10mph is this expected? and another question I have is, do jet powered boats have less torque than propelled powered boats? Also what is the maximum weight capacity this engine\boat is able to handle? because 700lbs was obviously too much.

Yes there is a significant power loss when using an outboard to propel a jet drive.

Overloading the boat is not a help either. A prop pulls a boat through the water while a jet pushes it. The prop is more efficient.

Will I be able to pull a tuber with one passenger? and what is the most weight my boat can handle? I'm thinking 500lbs? total? in my case its 300lbs onboard with a 165lb tuber.
