1994 merc 175 starts easily, runs smooth for a while, then stalls and won't restart. doesnt sputter, just shuts off. compression checked last summer after alarm went off a couple times ( shut off, restarted and alarm didn't go off again) all good. 20 gals new fuel/seafoam/quicksilver after leaving a few gallons of untreated in all winter. Have run long enough on ears that new fuel should be in the engine. replace impeller this winter. The fuel ball doesn't seem to stay hard, not empty, but not hard. I know this could be a number of things, where is the best place to start?
I checked the fire last night, all plugs firing. Fired for a second with a little starting fluid. Pulled a fuel line just past the fuel filter, produced a stream when cranked but can't tell if it was enough. There are a lot of part between the fuel filter and the injectors, any suggestions what it could be?
