I have recently purchased a 1994 Mercury 150 XR6 (serial # 0D232030) and it has the water pickup hose for the water pressure gauge spliced into the hose that runs between the thermostats at the top/back of the block. Through reading here I've found out that is not where it should be for the most accurate readings. Where would be a better place to put that line?

My 1995 Mariner 115 had/has a plug in the top starboard side of the block. Unscrew plug, install fitting, push in hose, done. Does this XR6 have anything similar?

Any 1/8" brass plugs screwed into the rear water jacket covers where the spark plugs are located?

Fixed! Tapped in to the hose attached to the fitting right behind the flywheel on top of the engine.
