I recently purchased a lund rebel and I finally got all the rivets off holding the floor down, now I can't seem to remove the floor in one piece, which I would like to do so I can use it as a stencil when cutting the pattern for the new floor, any suggestions?

I don't have anything to add, except that the guys who can help you will want more info about the boat, as well as plenty of pics. Both of the boat and of the things you have in question. Welcome to iboats!

I do know that no pressure treated anything should get near that aluminum! For the deck nearly any exterior grade ply will work. Arauco brand found some places is good stuff. I couldn't find any for my glass restore so I'm using bcx grade 3/4. You should seal the wood with 2-3 coats of epoxy resin (best) or 3 coats of spar urethane (good).

Pictures are a must with a question like this.

Most aluminum boats are made so you can take them apart pretty easily these days, what year is your boat?

Does your console butt the front deck?

I'm also wondering how to rivet the floor back down to the trusses running under the floor, this is my first boat restoration.

What part are you wondering about? How to layout the rivets or how to install the rivets?

walleyerebel if you're thinking of pulling it all up in one piece forget it. Unless you want to unfasten everything from the sides that is sitting on top of it. Lund puts the plywood and carpet down first and then builds everything on top of it. At least on every one I've seen through the 16' range.

The bulkheads on these Lunds run from side to side and not from front to back. I used a small circular saw with the blade set so it would be just short of cutting all the way through so as not to hit the bulkheads. Cut from front to back down the center and then split the final hair of ply and then wiggaled it out from under everything. Then cut the replacement pieces the same way to slide back under.

Thanks guys! I got the floor out after cutting the floor around the livewell. Bad news is I now can't get that small piece under the livewell out! Are there rivets under the livewell holding the floor down? Any suggestions of ways to get that piece out/ a way to replace the floor and carpet without removing that piece?

You may have to remove the livewell tub as I believe the outer box is screwed down. Can you post a picture of where you are at with this?
