1994 Johnson 88 SPL with no spark

We just bought a 1994 Johnson 88 SPL and it has no spark. It's getting plenty of gas and we cleaned the spark plugs which were fouled. Help! We don't know anything about boat motors.

RoadQueen,<br /><br />Two things to check.<br /><br />1. Is the "kill" switch lanyard hooked up?<br /><br />2. There is a fuse on the left side (standing behind)of the engine. It is in a connector that looks like a regular wiring connector. It is about 3-4 inches below the flywheel, toward the rear.
