Not sure what is going on. Went for about a 30 mile run down the ICW, from a slow troll too wide open throttle. Ran great all the way, took about a 3 hour break and then tried coming back. Thats when it would start but would not run more than about 15 sec. before puttering out. Change the fuel line from tank to engine, changed fuel filter and water separator. I mix in my oil when I gas up and doing a 50/1 ration. Bulb if firm some of the time and other times it goes soft. Any suggestions. Thanks

Hopefully others with better knowledge will chime in, but two things I'd try just to get started:

Pump the bulb while it's acting up and see if it helps. If it does, it is probably a fuel pump problem.

If you can, get a "known good" portable tank and use it to run fuel directly to your engine, bypassing your built in tanks to determine whether anything in that system needs to be looked at. If you can't easily use a quick-connect type portable fuel tank, you can just put your main fuel line into a 5 gallon fuel can of pre-mix and see if running that eliminates the problem. If so, then you just need to figure out where in that system is the problem.

That's about the extent of my experience and knowledge.

Remove the airbox and try spraying some premix fuel directly into the carb throats, see if that will keep it running.

Also try bumping the choke.
When were the carbs rebuilt last?

It was a totally rebuilt motor, purchased this year. Has been running fine. Had it out yesterday and the fuel bulb wasn't staying firm, had to pump the bulb to keep running.

you have 1 of 2 possible problems ..either the fuel pump is bad....or the float in the carb is not set right....

or a restricition in the carb somewhere....

The bulb isn't supposed to stay firm, its a flow thru device once the engine starts running.

If you can keep the engine running by bumping the choke then its not the pump. The choke solenoid bypasses the carbs and dumps fuel straight into the intake manifold. New pumps are $400+ so it pays to try that simple test.

If it was totally rebuilt it should have some sort of warranty no?
