1994 force 70 hp

need help!!!i just bought a used boat with this 1994 force 70 hp...when i was running it with ears i wasnt able to see the water ****....where should i look for it?is it a tube or just a little hole?is it in the front or in the back of the engine?

Welcome to iboats bogdand.<br /><br />Telltale water spout on this motor is on the right rear corner.<br />There should be a rubber fitting going thru the lower cowling.<br />The fitting is attached to a small rubber hose.<br /><br />The fitting or the hose may be clogged with a small peice of debris (seaweed, twig, etc.) Take a small wire and push it in the fitting to clean it out.<br /><br />It is hard to use ears on these motors, hard to get the water up into the waterpump to get it primed.<br />Also, if the water does come out the telltatle, it is difficult to know if the waterpump pushed it thru, or if the garden hose pressure did. I use a water tank for mine.<br /><br />Since the motor is new to you, I would replace the waterpump impeller. That way you know it is good, and how old it is.<br /><br />Also, an easier way to tell if the motor is cooling, is to install a water pressure gauge kit. They run about $50, and simply plugs into the small fitting on the top of your thermostat housing.<br /><br />I hope your 70 Force treats you as well as mine has treated me.

thank you very much for your helpfull hints!i did find the telltale water spout...but i have another questionis there any reason why the previous owner would tie a strap around that little hose real tight so it wont allow the water to come out???was he trying to hide something...ill take it to a mechanic anyways ...but im just curious why he would do that???

No reason that I can think of.<br />Maybe he thought it was a water leak??
