The design of the venting on the built in fuel tank is such that gas gets trapped in the hose, so when filling, gas spills out (belching). To remedy the problem after many years, a boat repair shop pointed out the design flaw and recommended re routing one of the vent hoses. Unfortunately they routed out on the side of the console seating, which resolved the venting while filling, but causes fuel to flow out of the vent when powering up on the water. Once the boat is level, there is no fuel escaping. Recommendation is to either put in a check valve, but have some concerns OR simply use a simple on/off manual fuel switch. When filling, open the valve, the when running, close it as the other vent hoses should handle any venting requirements. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
