Well I removed my vro pump and replaced it with a new double piggyback style fuel pump. Took it out, ran like crap. Came back and noticed all six of my float bowls were cracked in the same place. So I replaced my float bowls with new ones. But being a rookie I didn't do my homework before hand. I did not know that there was a high speed jet behind the drain plug on the float bowl that needed to be removed from the old and installed on the new float bowls. And I threw all the old bowls away before I learned of the jets. So now I need new jets to put in my new bowls and figured I'd replace all of them while I had em off. Just don't know which ones to orderExplain.-----What is your motor doing / not doing ?----What elevation are you running at ?-----Which jets do you want to change and why ?----The 150 and 175 hp jets are listed together.
my model number is j150glecg im pretty sure. Refering to my vro problems, well i had rebuilt it one time already. then the oil pumping part quit working. So i just decided to swap it out with one of the doubled up traditional fuel pumps. I can not get this thing to run right to save my life. Idk if its not pumping correctly or what, but i can tell my motor is starving for fuel. ive rebuilt the carbs, Im a machinist by trade so i made the jets i needed. I just pulled one of my factory jets out and built 3 replicas. The jet i pulled out was a 69D. After i made the replicas, i was looking at a parts diagram, and according to every diagram ive looked at, my carbs dont take a 69d. according to my research, a 1998 150hp fast strike should take a 70D or a 71D. Can someone please verify this for me. The jet im talking bout is the one that goes behind the drain plug on the float bowl. Also, Im a little bit confused about the pulse limiter. Im not sure whether im supposed to remove the pulse limiter or attach my vacuum line to it? one last thing, sometimes when my motor dies, you can hear the diaphram make a big wheezing noise as the motor dies. Ive never heard any other outboard make this noise before. i just feel like something is not setup right with this new pump. any ideas? Not the first one to make this mistake.------0322907 at about $40 each for 6 of them.----Don't worry about others.-----Why did you replace VRO?----What trouble shooting was done , if any ?
I am in Louisiana, so Im pretty much at sea level. and its not that i want to replace my jets, but i have to because i unknowingly threw the old ones away. i didnt know there was a jet behind the drain plug.Well I removed my vro pump and replaced it with a new double piggyback style fuel pump. the fastrike should be a 69D, no?The pulse limiter is a " FLOWFUSE " for the VRO pump housings.-----Not needed for other style pumps.----I see a 57D or 59D for the 150 model.
