I hear a buzzer going off in my OMC Shift controller/Start/Lever warm up/key primer. I never new the thing had a buzzer in it or what's its for. It goes on and stays until the Key is turned off. As I increase RPM/Speed the buzzer gets more intense. I thought it might be temperature, however, I do get a small stream of water from the llittle port topside of the motor.. Not a whole lot but steady. Please any suggestions?

That's a warning buzzer, different tones and lengths mean different things. A constant alarm I believe is an overheat alarm. Do not run the engine if that is on, something is wrong. Other possibilities are low oil, or no oil at all. I am not familiar with what the diferent alarms mean, so I am sure someone will pop in a post that in a minute or two.

The constant alarm on the 140 is strictly for the overheat condition. With the ignition on, disconnect each of the tan wires at the cylinder heads to see which one is causing the signal; If neither is, you may have a short to ground in the tan wire somewhere between the engine and the helm.

Also, check that the tan wires are as far from the sparkplug wires as possible.

The tell-tale stream tells you that the water pump is functional, but not whether water is passing through the cooling circuits of the engine.
