1993 90 Horse Force

My boat alarm was going off with the constant pitch which I believe indicates overheating. I noticed there wasnt a steady amount of water coming out the back of the engine, but I just got a new lower unit so I dont think it was the water pump. So when i started cruising at a higher speed it went away... then came back later in the day. basically it does it at lower RPM's.... Anybody know whats up with it???

What outboard is that? Yes, you said 90 but what make and year 90?
