Hi. Hope you're well.
I have a 1993 200 Xri V-6 that needs a complete lower unit. From a parts diagram, I believe what I am looking for is a 9148A11. Can you coach me on compatibility with other years and models?
2004, 9148T85 ?
1998, 9148A83 ?
'79 to '06, 9148T82 ?
Any kind of direction is appreciated. A $500 solution would be great.
Thank you,
J

Probably not on track here. Not sure I know what an xri is. But I know that some XR2 versions (same as mariner magnum) of the v6 150hp at least…for some reason, use the smaller gearcase from your average v6 merc of the age.

any and all of tha 2.0, 2.4, 2.5 from tha very beginning (1976) to present will all interchange.. most 2.0's gad 2 ta 1's where most 2.4/2.5's were 1.87 ta 1 (yours)... buy used and its a crapshoot....

XRI, first badging for fuel injection..
EFI same, same.... jus later year badging...

all XR4 and first coupla years of XR6 had tha tha small hub gearcase.. they both had 1.78 ta 1 gears....

Ah. It’s likely the xr6 I’m meaning then. Is that the one that’s the same as the mark et magnum ? Pre efi models. They have the smaller gear case

"Pre efi models. They have the smaller gear case"..

They ALL (1976 up), carb or efi, 135 to 225, have same size case EXCEPT tha XR4 and early (pre anode) XR6.. they were 4 1/4" hub....

Sorry. With regards to the xr and magnum I meant. Think you said similar, saying the early ones had the smaller gear case too. Then the magnum and XR went efi I think. That’s all I was meaning.

think when i explained about tha XRI and EFI badging some might have taken that as pertaining to tha gearcase question answer too but isn't tha case at all.. two completely different topics.......

at any rate tha XR4 and first three years of tha XR6 are tha only V6 mercs ta have tha 4 1/4" case..............
