My lower unit cracked and water got in.Running back to the dock the motor started knocking.Is it worth rebuilding myself or try to find another comparable motor to puchase.
i would find out whats wrong before scraping it. did it run hot? start it on muffs, and see if you can hear where it's coming from. the power head of the lower unit. being cracked it's best to replace the lower unit. there are plenty around.
