1992 Rinker 206 Captive outdrive ?

Im helping a frind install a seal kit, he had already ordered the parts how can i tell if its a Alpha 1 or Alpha 2. The old U Joint bellow has a pressed ring on the bell, the new kit came with a clamp?? Please help. Thanks

Pressed ring on the bellhousing means Alpha One Gen II....
The Alpha One has a clamp at both ends...

Salt or fresh?

If it's fresh, then strip, clean and re-oil EVERYTHING. Replace ALL electricals (starter motor, alternator, coil, distributor, wiring harnesses, solenoids, plug leads, ect.) strip and clean carb.

If it's salt, give it the last rites!

Fresh. Ok got ya so far. It's a given to drain the oil and with all the work that needs to be done electric carb etc what percations do I take to see their is no damage to the cyclender walls, pistons etc rust.

If its been underwater, the ONLY thing you should be doing is stripping it... Right down the the piston rings.... Don't even think about just draining the water and trying to start it....

On this pressed ring, do I need a special tool or a 2x4 and a hammer?

I have the tool and it makes it really easy. I guess you could cut a piece of wood to do the job....

I'm having a heck of a time getting this pressed ring on, had to remove the glue and start over. It doesn't seem like the ring wants to start correctly. I don't have the tool but if I could get the bellow outside the ring 100% then I could drive it home with this 4x4 I've made to fit. Any other tips or tricks I should know about?

If you have the manual, it says to use acetone....
