1992 johnson 60hp problem

i can run this motor WOT for a while and it will bog down and cut out cyclinders..hits a limiter at 3000rpm..

i can unplug the temperatur sensor next to the thermostat and it runs fine..

are these sensors famous for going out??

it seems like it would do it more and more often in the past few weeks..

anything else it can be?

Well the sensor is almost 20 years old. Replace the sensor, since you know it runs properly without it hooked up, and see if it corrects your problem.
