1992 four winns OMC Cobra 302 to 351 exchange

Hi All,

I couple years ago i bought a boat with a bad outdrive.. I picked up the parts and split the outdrive and start changing gears and bearings.

I was successful enough to get cocky... I didnt like the 302 and thought i need to "up" that power plant.. so i bought a used 351 HO and converted it to a marine application.



I pulled out the old and stuck in the new.. ( here is where my problems started. : ) haha

i didnt think much of the 302 throttle cable bracket just realized the mounting holes didnt match. I worked hard at all the other needed settings all over the motor.


For two years now i have had trouble getting the boat to shift correctly as well as push the throttle correctly open far enough to run the four barrels. ( I havent run it on the water but once. I gave up and put it back on the trailer when it wouldnt shift correctly. my fault. I stink at this.


Epiphany.. got it.. i screwed up the cable settings by using the 302 throttle bracket and not knowing/ getting a correct one for a 351 W.



Here is the Question for ALL. Anybody know:... What the bracket it properly called?? Anybody happen to have access to a "save"(salvage or simply unused) pile with one on it and interested in helping?? Any knowledge of the actual part number?
