1992 Evinrude 200hp Tachometer Signal Intermitent

Hi<br /><br />I have 1992 Evinrude 200 hp.<br /><br />My problem is the tachometer sometimes work and other not.<br /><br />I install a new tachometer and same problem.<br />I check the continuity in the signal cable came from the power pack and is OK.<br /><br />I have a good ground and the 12v/Ini signal in the gauges is good.<br /><br /> <br />I don't know if the problem is in the power pack or other place.<br /><br />I appreciate all the help.

Welcome aboard<br />Tach gets it signal from the rectifier (which also charges the battery(ies)). Next time the tach acts up, check your voltage gage. If it's not above 13.5 Volts, odds are your rectifier is beginning to fail.<br />Good luck
