I know one calls for relocating the water telltail to the upper corner of the water jacket cover - to eliminate air bubble collecting & cause of overheating.

SB number 2221, February 1990. False overheat signal.

Replace temp sensor with pn 585166. Wire pigtail is tan/blue stripe.

SB number 2225, April 1990. Overheating or overcooling

New thermostat seal/seat pn 336416

Old style was 2 piece seat, new style is one piece.


All V4, V6, V8 loopers.

There is a bulletin for the waterpump kit, still looking for it. The waterpump kit had different impeller, the fitting to relocate the tattle tale, pressure relief spring, thermostat housing cover, and instructions on how to install.

Thermostat should be black, the white ones had wrong seat taper.

What timing does SB 2271 state?

This SB 2271 does not give the specs. The specs and instructions came with the kit.

1992 70HP timing was changed to 17 degrees BTC at 4500 rpms using a test wheel.

This kit came with carb jets.
