1991 mercury o/b ignition switch box

I replaced my ignition switch box’s with cheaper version, motor runs better but still have a misfire somewhere. Do I need to spend more money on switch box’s or look at something else that could be the cause?

Cylinders left to right, 6, 4, 2. Other side was all clean

look at switch box, stator and trigger.. trigger probably least suspect.. what is tha stuff on face of # 2 (far right in picture)?
