I have a 1991 Mariner 150 outboard that stalls when at an idle and when running at full speed, the primer ball flattens out like a pancake. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this?

Thanks,

Re: 1991 Mariner 150

It sounds like a partially closed, closed or clogged tank vent. If the vent is clear then start looking between the bulb and the tank. If you have a fuel/water separator between the bulb and the tank it may be plugged. Also look for a kinked fuel line. It could also be something as simple as a partially closed fuel shut off valve at the tank.
