1991 454 magnum ignition amplifier

Help! When I bought my boat I did not realize someone had installed a car HEI distributor in it and I am replacing it with the thunderbolt IV ignition because they car HEI is giving me trouble anyway. My question is where does.the ignition amplifier mount? My boat is a 1991 checkmate convincer with aftermarket exhaust and I cant find where it would have mounted to originally. Any help would be appreciated.

Most cases it was mounted on the exhaust elbow, but since you have after market, that won;t work without a mod

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... The older T-Bolt VI's had a 4" x 5" box that mounted to the exhaust riser/ elbow,....

The later T-Bolt VI's had a tiny triangularish box that was screwed right to the distributor,.....
