1991 40h force Johnson, need help !!!!

I have a 40h force Johnson, and the year is 1991. A black round rubber washer, fit between the anode and the thrust hub where the propeller at got torn up. I took it to the mechanic and ask for a new part. No one seem to know what it is and what it calls. If any one out there know what I am talking about. Please, let me know. I am willing to give you more info if I miss out on any useful information.<br /><br />Thank you, in advance.

Well, I am confused as to what a force johnson is. Force, the one I am thinking of was made by chryler up to 90, then Mercury took it over. Are you sure it is a force, or is that just some kind of adjective they used on the cowling? As for the rubber washer, I think I might know what you are talking about, but am not sure what it is called. If the mechanic doesn't know, I say you should get another mechanic. Maybe one with a book, b/c I am sure it is in there. Good Luck, let us know what's up.

Hello, Clanton <br />Sorry for taking so long to get the info. I have to drive back to the lake to get the numbers you are asking for. Anyway, the MOD NO. is J40TLE5R and the SER NO. is G02492623. The only rubber behind the anode in the parts book, that I see is th propshaft seal.

It didn't show it in their shop book. You wouldn't happen to have the part number do you ? I look at book again, the only thing I see behind the anode is seals, and if this is out, gear oil should be running out. Seal # 321467 takes 2.

Hello, Clanton.<br /><br />I know the two seals which you are refering to. It has the metal casing and is use to stop the water from coming in to the gear and keep the gear oil from coming out of the lower gear. The rubber insert I am looking for is located before the anode. After the Propeller it would be the thrust hub and then the black round rubber piece fit into the anode, then next come the anode. It didn't show it in my shop book either. But it is there when I am replacing the propeller. Do you think it might came with the anode if I am purchasing the anode kit ? You have a steel thrust washer behind the prop right? I looked again from 89 to 97 nothing.
