1990 Nissan NS90 tilt and trim fluid

[soak 'n fused]

I was told to use straight hydraulic fluid but cant seem to find it in anything smaller than a gallon. I was told also that you can use transmission fluid. Now I am soak 'n fused. lol Anyway, what is the power trim and tilt fluid got in it and what is anyone's opinion on this? Thanks and happy boating!

We use Sierra 18-9750-0 Power Trim & Tilt Fluid (in 10-oz squeeze tubes for under $10), and have had no complaints. Type-F ATF will work in a pinch, but is high in detergents, and can cause swelling of some seals.
