I just changed my short shaft to a long shaft. I bought the longer midsection, shaft and pick-up tube from a salvage yard. What a god aweful job that was. Anyway, When I slipped the new midsection with lower unit onto the power head it seemed everything went together too good. My question, is there any way to ensure that the pick up tube went into the water inlet orifice on the exhaust housing? I guess when I start the motor if water is not coming out of the pissers then I will know it is wrong but I did not want to wait until that point to tear the whole thing back down. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
