I HAVE A 1990 115 JOHNSON.LAST TIME I HAD IT OUT IT RAN VERY ROUGH AND I WENT HOME EARLY.WHEN I GOT HOME I PULLED THE FRONT COVER OFF THE CARBS AND IT APPEARED WATER WAS COMING OUT OF THE BOTTEM CARB.I RAN MOTOR AGAIN ON THE MUFFS THEN PULLED PLUGS TO CHECK THEM.THE NUMBER 3AND 4 WERE VERY CLEAN AND HAD A TAN WATERY SUBSTANCE ON THEM.I REPLACED THE HEAD GASKET AND STARTED THE MOTOR AND I STILL AM GETTING WATER IN #3AND4.WHAT COULD THIS BE,PLEASE HELP.THE COMPRESSION ON 3 AND 4 IS 100 AND 1 AND 2 120

Whew!! water comming out of the bottom carb is a good thing. Actually, it is,being much better than water comming out of the block someplace. I would check the bowls on the carbs for water, and of course, the tanks. You may have been sabotaged by the nieghborhood teenage mutant ninja, who put water in your fuel tanks.
At least,I'm hoping this is waht happened.
I got my fingers crossed.

A few places I'd be suspicious of:

>inner and outer exhaust cover gaskets

>inner exhaust cover rotted out

>head gasket, warped head

>I don't want to even mention cracked block...

Did you check the head for straightness when you had it off?

If you did, and it was good, I'd pull the exhaust covers and inspect for leaks....
Has the engine been overheated previously?
