Și I bought this stator that has 1 through 6 wires for the Force engine. I was told I can just use the 1through 4 wires and tape up 5 and 6. But my problem is 3 and 4 are short. Can Iuse1 and 2 and 5 and 6 instead of 3 and 4?
I am including pictures of the 4 wire and the 6 wire
stators.

There are 6 wires but two of those (solid yellow wires) are for the rectifier while the other 4 is for the CD modules. Not really sure which is which wire colored wise. I cannot tell by wire numbers alone. Try connecting them as per wiring diagram first and see it'll work. And those two yellow wires if measured (resistance wise) it'll always show shorted due to be very low resistance. Something to be aware of.

So the 6 wire was meant as 1 through 6 plus the 2 yellows. So I was told that #5 and #6 are to not be used and 8t would work ona120hp 4 cyl.
So if I use the 1-2 and 5-6 can it be done?

Before deciding is this an after market from CDI, part#176-3095? Based from your description, it doesn't look like it is. Do you have a part number for this stator? Or is this a pull from a 5 cylinder Force motor? If it is then yes, you can just use 1-2 and 5-6 and just tape off the remaining wires, isolated from each other. DO NOT SHORT THEM TOGETHER.

The only concern I have is when you stated that wires 3 and 4 are shorted. This could have a negative impact on the total performance of the stator. Anyways, if you can just look closely on the windings for burn marks and if none is present, it could be just wires are only shorted to the core. If there's burn mark, most likely the stator may not work at all.
