Gel seal is a product that has a very low filler content.----Reason being is that most if not all the sealer must squeeze out.----The crankcase halves are a precision metal to metal joint.----It MUST be for proper bearing " clamp up " and to seal crankcase compression.----I have measured the sealer film on some engines at 0.008" where the club fisted mechanics had no idea what they were doing.----The film of sealer on these motors must 0.0005" or so.

Ok so for the crank case sealing the 518 is a must.
What can I do for places where a gasket is used can I use some silicone whether liquid type or paste type to make sure there is no leak? I am talking really thin amount on the gasket? Even copper spray that some spray head FeltPro gaskets on cars is an option. It has been used succesfully. No issues Thanks

Larger (35Hp and up) Chrysler/Force engines do not actually need liquide sealant at the crank case.
They have a grove in the cylinder case were a "spagetti" seal shall be applied.
Instead of the OEM red "spagetti" seal I use "O-ring" string with a diameter of 2-2,5 mm (0.08-0,10 in).
Have used this "O-ring" for many years with no leaking issue.
On smaller engines I use Permatex Aviation No.3 Form a Gasket at the crank case.

In the book the spaghetti seal is in the 120HP model A the B and C have the Loctite. I just read that recently in the service manual.

Ok so I am waiting for the machine shop to do the block reboring. In the meantime I am cleaning and prepping it all.
I have a question on a piece that fell in the initially dismantling. I asked this before and still have no clue where it goes.
The black plastic piece. The only place that it fits is in one of the holes from picture one. But there are 2 holes.
As you can see the cover that I had to remove to get to the bolts underneath has thise 2 orange caps. The 2 holes ho under that so mabe there should be 2 of those things.

See Jerry's post#45 for that.
The function of the two hole plugged with the orange caps; I've wondered myself :)

Yeah I have to order the second one, only have one.
I just got done pressing the race pins out of the old pistons good thing I have a friend with a body shop. I used a 20 ton press he keeps unused in the back of the shop, you still had to hold it in a perfect straight position to get it out easily. Hammering does not work folks.

I have a problem. So the pistons from WSM .020 look a bit different inside. Model number 100-205-05k
O called and spoke to Florida tech support and they said this is the model
for 1990 Force B model 3.375 opening rebored .020. If you look inside thespacers don't fit anymore.
They sent their own needle bearing with washers. But nothing is holding them from spacing out.
The new pistons are slanted inside

That wrist pin kit is the one you replace the old thicker spacers and needles.
It looks right assembled.

Yes, the connecting rod will need some play.
This is what I have had in all my restoration when using aftermarket pistons such as WSM, PRO V and Wiseco pistons.
Almost all those calls for this wrist pin kit WP29-1.

Ok that's all clear thanks.
There is a seal that I want to know if it should be replaced. I am including a picture. Center black.

That's the water line bracket....there is a seal and a grommet that can be replaced in there.....doesn't look bad but since you're in there......parts are available.

Ok so I got all the pistons assembled, tead about what to use to hold the needle bearings in and settled for vaseline and 2 stroke after . It worked.
What do you suggest for the crank needle bearings. Those are larger. I have 5 different greases and vaseline.

I used Vaseline for that as well, luckily they have the cages to keep in place

Good to know and I will.
So I have not heen able to locate the seal and grommet for the inlet water bracket.
Topgun3690 mentioned what they are.
Any idea on part numbers.
I think I might leave it as is if I cannot locate them. Let me know and thanks.
