Hello all
I got me sometime ago a boat with Evinrude 60hp outboard (BE60TLESM), I don't know how many owners it had before me.
It has an irritating issue with the fast idle lever, it raises up after pulling control back to neutral, thus keeping idle rpm's very high. The lever starts to raise even if the controller was at the first forward detent.
At the engine I can see the throttle lever is not returning to idle stop screw. I can pull the throttle lever back against the stop screw and then the idle rpm slow down to about 800-900 rpm.
I've followed the link & sync procedure in the service manual and in the repair video found in the following link:
Everything goes well until the throttle cable is installed into the anchor pocket first pulling back to remove any backslash. Adjusting the trunnion nut in either direction all the way in small steps doesn't help at all, the fast idle lever raises always when pulling controller back to neutral.
Ideas/hints anyone?
