I have a 1990 evinrude 15hp E15RESR The thing runs perfect. problem is the first start of the day takes from 5-10 pulls. after that first pull every time. It was suggested adjusting the choke linkage, but I dont see any adjustments. during the first start it never sputters or tries to start but then it starts right up and runs without hesitation. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

You could try a new set of plugs, worth a try cheap fix sometimes.

There are some (3?) small holes on the bottom of the carburetor throat just around the throttle
plate that provide gas at low rpm's and during start. These might be partially plugged, so you'd
need a number of pulls to get the gas to the cylinders. If so, a carburetor cleaning might solve
the problem.

I'd look real close at the choke and linkage again.

I have had the carb off and cleaned out those 3 holes. The original problem is is sucked up the foam insulation from the motor cover. all has been removed and cleaned. If I look closer at the choke what am I looking for. I must be missin it.

What cold start procedure are you using? Best of luck. Rick.
