Hey Guys,
I bought a 1994 OMC Tritoon with a 1990 Evinrude V6 150 like Chief has (OS2 (SW) here).

I’m stuck right because my VRO pump failed so I switched the engine to mixed fuel and replaced the VRO pump with a gas pump. Now I’m trying to figure out why it won’t start. I’m rebuilding the carburetors but outside of that I’m not sure what else to do. I do see gas on top of the water and I had a bunch of oil and gas bubble up from the lower unit when I was able to get it started a couple of times.

I continually get the oil alarm warning after it’s been running for a minute but I thought I disconnected the alarm.

Does anybody have any suggestions on what I’m doing wrong?

If the diaghram in the fuel pump leaks, raw gas will be introduced into the crankcase. You will see it on the water, and it can even cause hydrolock.

You might pull off the pulse line and pump the fuel primer bulb and see if she leaks.

What oil alarm do you get? A 1990 would have a 3 alarm system, if stock. The only oil alarm would be low oil in the reservoir, I would think.
