I am going to look at a 1990 Bass Tracker. What I know:

Aluminum
16/17 foot
70 HP Johnson
Carpet replaced
Picture look good, but you know how that goes
Price seems good at $1700

Anyone here have experience with Bass Trackers?
Anything to watch for?
Is the deck aluminum or wood?
Any info is appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

Tracker boats seem to have the reputation of aluminum bayliners, Not a very good reputation. Thats not to say this is not a nice boat just saying you will find a lot of guys who do not think very highly of them

Re: 1990 Bass Tracker

I have done a bunch of research and I have found the company of strangers is mixed. Some swear by them and others swear at them. Depends on the circumstance. One thing that most everyone agreed upon with that the Bass Tracker is an entry level boat (I have always wondered what that meant), but to me fishing is fishing and until you compete in tournaments, or head out off shore, a boat is a boat if it stays afloat. I've caught a bucket load of bass from the shore, canoes, paddle boats, and jon boats and they all seem to fight the same. Of course, I've spent my life in south Florida and learned to fish and boat before I could walk. Overall, even if they are a cheap boat, I am finding many happy customers and considering this one has been around since 1990 and looks good, I think it will be fine. Who knows? I may be eating my words in a few weeks. ;)
