My 1990 60hp merc runs good 95% of the time. But sometimes when it's been operating for periods of time under a load...(Pulling the kids on a tube, heading out fishing trough 3 footers @ 10-15mph) it will loose power and cut out in the middle of it's throttle range. At this point you have only 3 choices, Idle, full power, of sit and let it cool off. Any ideas? The motor runs good, compression is good, new impeller in fuel pump, spitting out plenty of water...could it be an electrical component overheating?
