1990 50hp force outboard

I have a 1990 force 50hp outboard with a bad lower unit. I have been looking at them on ebay, but I'm not sure what all will fit. Do I have to find the exact same unit or are there some that will cross reference?

Does the exhaust exit thru center of prop? If its the old style with plastic cone nut in center of prop 40/50hp will work. Pm me if its that type as I can help ya out ...

It does have the plastic cone in the center. I'm not sure of the exhaust. I have never had this motor running.
