So I got my 1990 bayliner Capri with the 3.0L 4cyl engine out this weekend and when I turned the key the starter sounded very rough. After it started the engine
purred like a kitten. Sunday I was getting read to take it out when the starter pretty much
shot craps on me. When I try to start it, it wants to start but it no longer engages
the engine.
It seems the starter is very easy to get to. My questions are, what brand of starter do you
experts recommend and how hard is it for an amature mechanic to fix? Any help is very much
