1989 Renken

I have converted my 1989 renken Inboard to an On outboard when I cut the transom down I cut it to where the cavatation plate was even with the botom of the hull after doing all my glass work and finalizing everything when I mounted the motor the cavatation plate is about 1.5 inches to 2 inches above botom of hull. motor will not drop anymore at all my ? is when the boat gets up to about 3500 rpm the prop looses bite is there any thing I can do to fix this without cuting my transom down more thank in advance <br /><br />p.s It has a short shaft for 20 inch transoms can I get a longer shaft

You might take the prop to a good prop shop and have them double cup it or see if you could get one with a larger Dia.

my ss does need to be rehubed how much does something like that run to rehub double cup and resurfice and do you no any good shops there none that I no of here in Va <br /><br />Thanks

You could get a jack plate. If you mount it two inches lower than the engine is now you can move it up and you get it about 5 inches from transom.

Talked to one place and they said they would rehub resurfice and double cup my ss for 120.00 does this sound right

One more thing my hub dia on my prop is the big hub I guess I know the one on mine is bigger then the one on my dads 2001 115 merc but when I hear people talk about this they say the big hub is 41/2 inch so if some could tell me what the dia should be on the 1977 175 it would be great

The front prop hub on all thru hub exhaust, V/6 or Mercruisier 1 props measures 4 3/8 in
