I just purchased a 1989 100 HP 4 cyl on an 18' Starcraft aluminum boat. Guy I bought it from said motor idles rough & last time he took it out the motor would quit, then it would start right up again - he used it twice in 3 years. Writing on the motor block says compression is 105 - 110 on each cyl.What would you guys do if you had this motor, trade it in? Have a mechanic spend some time with it? Is this a decent motor or am I asking for problems? I live in Michigan - can't try it out right now - too much snow.
