fuel pump is pumping large amounts of fuel to number 3 into the water. what can i do to resolve this?

If your fuel pump diaphram goes bad then your engine could run lean and you could damage the powerhead. Put in a new fuel pump ($10 and they used to be in stock at NAPA) just to be safe. However, it really sounds like a carb problem not a fuel pump.
