1989 force 50 hp

I was wondering if anyone would know if
A 1989 507Y9B lower could be replaced with a 1987 507X7C both have. 22” shaft
Boat is a1989 spectrum blue fin 1700 50 hp

They both have the same upper gear housing / drive-shaft / shift -rod so it would be safe to say they would.
