How critical is the nozzle well and the small hose as far as a good running motor is concerned? I noticed the well has a small crack at the embedded brass tube and may leak. I may repair using jb weld. Also how tight does that little hose need to be ?

That little hose is expensive and needs to be there.-----It needs to be tight.

Don't forget the upper and lower gaskets, and the high speed jet. Important little assembly.

Look at the well very closely.----I believe you will find wee holes that meter fuel.-----That hose feeds fuel to the idle circuit.----So yes it is important.-- That hose needs to be installed so it does not interfere with operation of the float.-----Give yourself a pat on the back for asking too.

That's what I thought. The oem hose came apart and the .040 office was dirty so I cleaned everything but did not have the hose. It's on order. Thanks

IMPORTANT: I just noticed in the carb on the BRASS tube that the little hose goes on "at the bottom of the tube" I can see two SUPER small holes perpendicular to the tube. Should the hose be pushed all the way down to cover those holes or should I stop the hose short of covering? I saw these holes using my magnifying glass.

Ok, I installed the hose and made certain the hose did NOT cover the little holes. The motor started and ran good.
ALso, I bought the hose 2' for $4 at a lawnmower repair shop.
F-4040-a o.d. .125. Wall thickness of .030. It fit tight and worked well.
