Started with no spark tested and changed regulator/rectifier (the one under the flywheel that mounts in the water passage) Now I have week spark to stbd bank and none to port bank. switched coils and still the same could this be the trigger under the flyweel or the power pack.

Hey boanut....welcome to the forums!

Well....to start....you probably switched out the reg/rec for nothing. It don't do much for spark.....just charging the battery is all it's good for.

Possibilities....weak/bad power coil under the flywheel, could be the power pack.

What you need to do is find out what the voltage is coming from the power coil to the power pack is. If it's OK....probably the pack.

Suggest you get a service manual for the engine. OEM is preferred. You can get reprints of the OEM's from Ken Cook Co. or Marine.com. Do a search.

Gut feeling....power pack.

OBJ is right as usual. Most times you can just put on a new power pack and go.But that once or twice it is something else. That is why the manual, and the test sequence.I'm sure that water cooled regulator set you back some.Power pack will also be pricey. And if the problem is really the stator or something else....

I know you see our point.

Good luck.

DHP
